Support
Move a licence to a new computer
How it works
Four steps, no ticket
It has all three things this form needs: the address the order was placed under, the order number, and the licence key.
All three have to match the same order, and maintenance and support has to be current — the same check support makes by hand.
Your activations are cleared, so you can activate again on the new computer with the same licence key.
The confirmation goes to the address on the order, not to the one typed into this form. If those differ, check that mailbox.
Your licence
Before you start
- Maintenance and support has to be current. It runs for twelve months from purchase, and a renewal or an upgrade restarts it. See renewal prices.
- Versions up to 5 years old can be renewed. Past that, an upgrade is the route back to a supported version.
- One reset per licence per year.
- Deactivate the old computer first if you still have it. That frees the activation without using your reset.
Stuck? Contact support with your order number and we will sort it out.
Questions
What people ask
How many times can I do this?
Once every twelve months per licence. Beyond that, support can help — there is usually something else going on.
It says my details do not match.
Copy all three straight from the delivery email rather than retyping them. If it still refuses, your maintenance and support may have lapsed, which stops the transfer until it is renewed.
My maintenance has lapsed.
Renewing re-enables the transfer, and so does upgrading — an upgrade carries a year of support with it. Both are on your account page.
I am moving to a second computer, not replacing one.
That is a floating licence rather than a transfer: one person, two computers, at 50% more than the single licence. It is on every product page.
I no longer have the email address on the order.
Contact support with the order number and the licence key. That case needs a person, because proving the account is yours is the whole point of the check.
